The parish of Thrybergh St Leonard is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.
All clergy and Readers within the Church of England have Safeguarding training and need record check clearance certificates as a normal part of their ministry. Our lay volunteers who work with young people and vulnerable adults also go through the safeguarding process. This is to ensure that our congregation is a safe place for young and vulnerable people to visit.
If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact our Parish Safeguarding Officer, Marie Lawery by Email, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.
The Diocese of Sheffield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
