Welcome!
We are a friendly, local church at the heart of the community of Thrybergh.
Whether you’ve been to church your whole life or you’re just curious, you’re very welcome here. We’re an ordinary group of people from Thrybergh and the surrounding area, learning about Jesus, supporting one another, and serving our community.
You can expect friendly services with music, prayers and no pressure to join in, with tea and coffee afterwards. As well as worship, there’s loads of other things going on during the week and we’d love to see you.
Come as you are and join us in worship every Sunday morning at 10am.
… All are welcome!
We meet together every Sunday morning and we’d love to welcome you!
What should I expect?
A warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere, great music, and cake! Our services include singing, praying, words from the Bible, and teaching about how to follow Jesus. There’s normally a chance to be prayed for during or after the services, too, if there’s something specific you’re concerned about. Don’t worry, though – we won’t ask you to do or say anything you don’t want to, and there’s no pressure on anyone.
What about my children?
Children are very welcome here! They can stay in the main worship area and we like them to be involved during the service. There’s also a dedicated play space within the church if you’d prefer.
Is the building accessible?
Yes. We have wheelchair access, a disabled toilet, and a sound system that makes it easier to hear. The building is over a thousand years old, with traditional pews, but we work hard to make it into a comfortable space for everyone.
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in – there’s no dress code.
What’s next?
Come and visit! If you want to let us know you’re coming in advance, or if you have any questions, just get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you!
Safeguarding
The parish of Thrybergh St Leonard is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.
All clergy and Readers within the Church of England receive safeguarding training and require record-check clearance certificates as a normal part of their ministry. Our lay volunteers who work with young people and vulnerable adults also go through the safeguarding process. This ensures that our congregation is a safe place for young and vulnerable people to visit.
